I am living on the edge

The only thing that could make 8 am Crim Pro more exciting would be to do it as a rogue fugitive.  I finally have my new car you see.  My new car arrived late on Friday.  I have class early Monday.  No time to get a parking permit.  My goal is to beat campus security to the punch - by running back to my car after Crim, getting a parking decal, and returning before my next class. 

If I fail, it will still be worth the $50 ticket not to have parked in the artic tundra of the upper lot this morning.  Brrrrr.

I'm here

I haven't been posting much lately because I haven't found the time.  The good news is, that my Civ Pro class makes time stand still, so I've come upon some extra minutes in my week.

All the news:

Classes are dragging
8 am was never early until Crim Pro started
Husband will be here tonight
Lots of sex expected
Work load boarding on unbearable
Fridge is empty
Stomach is hungry
Weekend is nearing

I'm going to make it my business to catch up at least a couple times a week - probably always during Civ Pro.  For all you soon-to-be-law-students, I'll let you in on all the wonder that is second semester Civ Pro.  Today, it's all about fees.  Contingency, hourly, shared, shifting, recoverable/not, common funds and so on.  There is nothing exciting to say about any of it, so that is all you get.

Smelly

I'm in Civ Pro part deux.  It smells like bubbles.  Childhood bubbles.  I want a wand and a bottle and a sunny day.  Childhood memories are not aiding me in concentrating on procedure.  Bubbles are fun and young and like a child.  Procedure is dull and old and like an old man.  Much like Professor Civ Pro II in some ways.  Both are smelly.  Bubbles and procedure that is - Professor Civ Pro II smells like candy.

Cold Weather Region Lesson #14:

Do not lock your car doors the night before it (unexpectedly) snows.  Your locks will freeze shut and you will have to crawl through the vehicle from the one door you manage to get open, then back again when you realize that you left the dog out, then back in, then back out when you realize you are going to have to scrape the windows, then back in because you forgot the scraper, then back out to scrape, then back in to drive to school, then back out to go into school because they will still be frozen at that time.

Duly noted.

Crim

We got yelled at in Crim yesterday.  More accurately, the prof got a bit irritated with one or two people and took it out on the rest of us by getting mad and leaving class early.  It was a little tense.  A great show.  I've got to go Crim now.  Not looking forward to it...

Where have I been?

Well, I've been here...at school.  I love school.  If it makes you happy, it can't be that bad.  If it makes you happy, then why the hell are you so sad?  Sheryl was so right. 

A few things to catch up.

Grades - they are in and as expected.  It's funny how doing average and good, still shakes out to average.  That's me, average.

Second Semester Classes - more interesting than first semester in that I haven't come to the point of sickness at the sight of the material; less so in that it's a lot of procedure.  Procedure, procedure, procedure.  And Property.  Woohooo.  On tap: Civ Pro II, Property, Administrative Law (affectionately titled APLP - American Public Law Process), and Crim Pro.  I'm not sure if it's possible to OD on statute reading, but I'm well on my way to finding out.

The Break - was not long enough.  I notice on the schedules for the upcoming two years, the break is scheduled to be a week longer.  That sounds great.  Even if it is a year away.

Job Hunting - sucks, and nothing makes it better.  If you want a hard working (yet lazy job seeking), average student from an above average law school to work for you for pay or no this summer...I know someone.

On The Move - my family is moving to VA soon.  That is wonderful.  I, myself, am moving in a few months to a better place, closer to school.  That is wonderful.  All of this involves some actual labor and planning.  That is not wonderful.

Blogging - has been light.  May get better.
