I drove by the law school again today. I half thought about actually going in - but wandering around aimlessly wasn't high on my list of desired things to do today (what with the exploded ovary and all). I figure I'll save all that aimless wandering for orientation. There's bound to be others wandering as well. Of course, my fellow 1L's could be polishing up their law building knowledge this week while I am jacking around, in which case I may be the only wanderer. Maybe, but I doubt it.
I did notice something today. Things, really. First - the city has decided that the week before school starts is an excellent time to undertake a massive street digging-up project which effectively blocks the main road to the law school. Nice. There is an acceptable alternate route - but it's not as nice.
I also noticed that there is no where near as much parking as I had remembered (imagined) from my previous visit to the school. What was also remembered to be an additional nearby parking lot, turned out to be parking for staff and faculty only. Wonderful. I'm guessing that I am going to need to be pretty early or pretty fit in order to get to class each day. Damn it.
I ordered a backpack and some school supplies - finally. My Booq will be here tomorrow - but woohoo to Office Depot who not only gave me free shipping (for orders over $50) but promised next-day delivery, and delivered. The UPS guy didn't seem too happy to have to trek out to my house in the sticks. He handed me one box saying, "I'm glad to get rid of this stuff." Umm OK. Anyway, even gouchy UPS guy couldn't take away from my joy at having my supplies. I opened up my own private Christmas and dutifully put everything away....except for the stuff that is destined for the Booq. Damn Booq - two day delivery is so yesterday (or the day before) - get with the program.
Tomorrow, I plan to finish that damn book the school sent - no more procrastinating. Friday, I will be back at the law school and will actually have to go in this time - unless they will deliver my schedule to me curbside. Doubtful. Then it's off to the bookstore to book shop. I can't think of a more exciting day.
